I Quit Drinking and It Changed Everything.

Two years ago, I quit drinking and it gave me my life back. How one decision reshaped my motherhood, my health, and my business.

Two years ago, I quit.

Not my job.
Not motherhood.
Not my business.

I quit drinking alcohol.

There was no dramatic rock bottom. No intervention. No big moment of “this is it.”
I was just a mom who finally realized that something small was quietly costing me everything that actually mattered.

The Moment That Changed Everything

One night, I had a few too many drinks celebrating a college football win.
The next morning, I couldn’t remember building forts with my son and my niece.

That was the gut punch.
The moment I didn’t see coming.

I remember thinking:
I fought so hard to have my son… why am I losing moments with him over something that gives me nothing in return?

That was my last drink.

What Happened When I Let Go of that One Thing

I didn’t expect some massive life transformation.
Honestly, I thought I’d feel deprived.
Instead, it felt like freedom.

Letting go of alcohol didn’t make my life smaller.
It made everything bigger.

1. I built two LLCs.

With clearer mornings and more mental space, I suddenly had the capacity to create, think, and execute.
No wasted weekends.
No slow starts.

2. I became fully present with my kids.

My kids have never seen me drink.
That’s something I’m deeply proud of especially coming from families where alcohol is just… expected.

Breaking that cycle felt like something that would be hard.
But it turned out to be the easiest decision I’ve ever made.

3. I got pregnant naturally.

After being told I’d likely need IVF again, it was a complete shock.

My husband and I were going through the logistics of surrogacy the week I found out I was pregnant.
I truly believe taking care of myself differently made space for my daughter to come into our family.

4. I found purpose in helping other moms.

The hours I used to lose to drinking or recovering from drinking became the hours I used to build something meaningful.

Today, I get to coach moms who want more for themselves.
Moms who want income. Identity. Confidence.
Moms who want something that is theirs.

Amazing women are opening Etsy shops every single day… and it all started because I cleared one thing out of my life.

5. I realized the social situations were never the point.

In the beginning, I used non-alcoholic drinks just to blend in.
Then I realized:
I didn’t even like the environments I was trying to fit into.

I wasn’t missing out.
I was finally opting in to my real life.

I Didn’t Give Up Anything. I Got Everything Back.

Letting go of alcohol wasn’t about restriction.
It was about reclaiming my mornings, my presence, my clarity, and my identity as a mom and a woman.

It became the catalyst for every good thing that’s happened since.
